Thankyou - Diana Ross

During the COVID pandemic, I was contacted by We Are The Allies to pitch an effect for a music video that would incorporate the colors of the chakras. The catch? We couldn’t reveal the name of the singer and could only use stock footage—only that she’s the "queen of pop." So, where do I begin?

For this project, I brought in Ben Wild Studios to create the character outlines from the stock footage, while I focused on designing patterns, textures, and animated elements to integrate seamlessly into the footage. After some experimentation, we developed a solution that could move in and out of the stock footage, creating a surreal, A-ha–esque dream space that could be applied to any footage while incorporating a broad and dynamic color palette.

After submitting the design, I was chosen to work with the production agency ARK on the project, where it was finally revealed that we’d be working on a Diana Ross music video. How exciting!

I feel incredibly fortunate to have been a part of this project. If it weren’t for us all working from home, I might not have had the chance to collaborate with such a talented team on this amazing opportunity.
